Mitchell Morey is an economic researcher at AIR. He has extensive experience evaluating a variety of projects in developing country settings. He completed his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He personally managed a study on preferences for imported or domestically produced rice in Madagascar. He also has experience working in East Africa. He was part of a small team that evaluated Catholic Relief Services’ aid programming in Kenya, using a new methodology to predict the efficacy of cash-based aid as a potential replacement for food-based aid. He spent time in Madagascar as Peace Corps Volunteer before beginning his graduate studies.
Dr. Morey is currently involved in evaluations of a cash transfer program in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and an agricultural evaluation in Madagascar.
