Chris D. Times is a senior communications specialist with the Southeast Comprehensive Center (SECC) at AIR and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Her primary responsibilities include writing, editing, and developing documents, resources, and other materials for technical assistance (TA), professional development, and information dissemination work for several multimillion dollar federally funded projects, which include SECC, Midwest Comprehensive Center, and the Regional Educational Laboratory Southeast. She also serves as a training facilitator for AIR’s programs, projects, and initiatives.
In her work with SECC, Times is the project lead for the information request service (which creates customized reports on key education topics for state agency staff), the center’s website and social media presence, and its quality assurance processes. In addition, she works closely with AIR’s Publication Services group as a member of the proposal editing team and as a Pubs project manager.
Times has extensive experience in communications, training, instructional design, website management, and content management. Her education research interests include college and career readiness, literacy, and school improvement. She also is interested in the use of evidence-based practices and strategies to improve equity, instruction, and achievement for K–12 students and adult learners in high-need communities.
Prior to her work at SECC and AIR, Times served as a senior instructional designer, learning management system coordinator, and a documentation specialist for a federal government contractor as well as a publications editor for a community-based hospital.
